Live betting, or betting in-play, is a relatively new system that has emerged with the sustained growth of betting online. Betting in-play allows you to place a bet after a match has already kicked off on a variety of markets, with odds being adjusted according to the circumstances (such as substitutions, goals, red cards, injuries, in-game statistics). For example, the odds on a team to win a match will be increased if the opposition take the lead or the longer the match remains goalless. This means you can make more money from betting on the team to win during the match as opposed to betting on them to win before the match. However, this works both ways: waiting in-play for odds to increase can backfire if the team you are waiting for takes the lead before you are able to place your bet.
